🏔️ Mont du Dôme – ZEC des Martres
Mont du Dôme is a prominent peak in the Charlevoix region, offering panoramic views of the Gouffre River Valley and the St. Lawrence River. The trail is part of the Traversée de Charlevoix network and provides a challenging yet rewarding hike.

• Access: The trailhead is located along Route 381, approximately 2.4 km past the Grand Jardins Visitor Centre. The parking lot is small, and there are no facilities at the trailhead. The closest restrooms are at the Grand Jardins Visitor Centre.

• Elevation Gain: 467 meters (1,532 feet)

• Difficulty: Moderate to challenging
• Surface: Natural terrain with some rocky sections
The trail includes a section with scrambling over large boulders, which can be slippery, especially in the fall when covered with leaves. Hiking poles can be helpful, but some hikers find it easier to navigate without them to use their hands.

There are no official fees to access the trail (you can pay in a box at the bottom of the trail) However, visitors should be prepared for the rugged access road, which may require a suitable vehicle.
