The Colosseum is a massive ancient amphitheatre that was built during the reign of the Flavian emperors. It could hold up to 80,000 spectators and was used for gladiatorial contests, animal hunts, and other public spectacles. Despite being partially ruined over time, it remains a symbol of Imperial Rome and a popular tourist attraction. The name "Colosseum" is believed to come from a colossal statue of Nero nearby. Today, it's a must-see landmark that offers a glimpse into the grandeur of ancient Roman entertainment.

Interesting fact: The Colosseum was not the original and the first in Rome; there is another building after which the Colosseum was built, but that I'll leave to the segway guides to tell and show you.
