Being from Brisbane, I’m no stranger to the joy of exploring botanical gardens, our own are a regular retreat for me. So when I’m on the road in other cities, I love to check out their green spaces and appreciate their unique charms. The Adelaide Botanic Garden was a beautiful experience, offering a lush oasis right in the heart of the city. Best of all, it’s free to visit!

Spanning 50 hectares, this garden is a horticultural gem that beautifully blends Australian native plants with exotic specimens from around the globe. As I wandered through its winding paths, I felt like I was lost in a verdant paradise. The garden’s design is simply exquisite, featuring tranquil lily ponds, majestic trees, and captivating plant collections.

The Palm House, a Victorian-era glasshouse, is a highlight, showcasing an impressive array of palm species in a historic setting. I also loved the Bicentennial Conservatory, which felt like stepping into a miniature rainforest. Each corner of the garden offers a new discovery, and I found myself enjoying the peaceful ambiance and the occasional flutter of butterflies. For anyone visiting Adelaide, stop into this botanical haven to unwind and reconnect with nature.
