Battle of Bannockburn, 23-24 June 1314

The Battle of Bannockburn went down in 1314 between the Scottish squad led by Robert the Bruce and the English crew under King Edward II. It was a big deal because the Scots snagged a win, turning the tide in their favor during the First War of Scottish Independence. Basically, Robert's army of around 6,000 took on Edward's massive force of 20,000 to 25,000 troops. After some epic fighting, the Scots came out on top, sending the English packing and securing a major victory that's still celebrated in Scottish history today.
