Dennis Severs came to Spitalfields in 1979 and bought a derelict house saved by the Spitalfields Trust. He reconfigured it to tell the story of an imaginary Huguenot family who had lived there since it was built in 1724. The house is like stepping into a time machine back to the 18th century but it's not your typical museum - it's more of an immersive experience where you wander through rooms filled with objects that tell the story of the imaginary Huguenot family. The house itself becomes a stage for these characters, all your senses will be bombarded, creating a unique and unforgettable journey through history.
