What you'll do
The Westfjords is one of the most magical parts of Iceland. It’s remote, unique and quiet. There’s so much to explore and the fjord drive are breathtaking.
You can start this itinerary either by exploring the Southern Part of the Westfjords of the Northern. I somehow like to do the Northern first and finish with the Southern Part.
Day 1
Day 1 is about making it to the Westfjords. You will see some amazing things along the way before the day. I suggest staying in Heydalur on night 1 before continuing the adventure towards Ísafjörður on Day 2.
There are not super many places listen on day one - but there’s plenty of small unexpected sights and photo-spots along the way. Many are weather dependent.
Blue Car Rental

The Go to Car Rental in Iceland
There are many car rental places in Iceland, my go to is Blue Car Rental. I know they have extensive coverage around Iceland and have a very good customer service. Most (If not all) of the cars come with unlimited mileage and zero hidden cost.
The unlimited mileage is a huge plus in Iceland as it can always be so tempting to drive down just one more road!

Turf house
Its a turf house from the Viking era. In the summer you can get a private tour inside the house with fascinating stories about the first settlers. Definitely worth a visit.
