Coal Creek Falls is an off-the-beaten-path waterfall in the West Coast region of New Zealand. It's easily accessible via a relaxing, hour long forest track that can be found near Runanga. Getting to the falls requires some effort but it's worth it. Visitors can catch a glimpse of the falls from the viewpoint or go right down to the water's edge and see the sprawling cascades up close. There are also opportunities for swimming in the pool below the falls as well as daring jumps from its top if you've got the guts.
