Further information: The Aldermen Islands are a small group of rocky islets located off the coast of Coromandel Peninsula in the North Island of New Zealand. Named “the Court of Aldermen” by Captain Cook in 1769, they are comprised of four main islands and several others surrounding them. These include Big Hump, Little Hump, Nga Horo Island, Half Island and The Spire. A natural reserve, the area is known for its abundance of rare species and lush vegetation, making it an ideal spot for nature lovers and adventurers alike. With its breathtaking views, amazing wildlife, and a fascinating history, the Aldermen Islands are truly a sight to behold!
