The Castello Svevo is one of Bari's most emblematic landmarks, and when I saw it in real life, it certainly was also one of the most impressive (photos don't do it justice).

Commissioned by Norman King Roger II in the 12th century, it was later rebuilt and remodeled by Frederick II of Swabia, Isabella of Aragon, and her daughter Bona Sforza. Inside, you'll find occasional art and sculpture exhibitions, adding a touch of culture to this medieval fortress.
