This is the shortest of the nine access trails into the North Fork American River canyon, and the only one with a bridge over the river. The trail takes you through the American River canyon, and also past old Gold Rush era mining ruins. Part of the trail passes through private property on an easement, so it is a good idea to stay on the trail. You can also backpack along this route; there are some dispersed camping options by the river.

High enough to reach snow levels during winter. Avoid that season only.
