Outdoor High Ropes Course
Kletterwald in Garmisch-Partenkirchen is a thrilling climbing forest experience that offers a mix of excitement and challenge. Visitors can test their climbing skills on various courses, from beginner to advanced levels, while enjoying the beautiful natural surroundings. The adventure includes balancing on moving objects, ziplining, and overcoming fears of heights. It's a fun way to push yourself out of your comfort zone and feel like a rock star once you conquer those obstacles!
Then take the cable car to the top of Wank for lunch at the Sonnenalm and more playtime at the playground up top. Optionally hike the short loop on the top of Wank.

Mountain with Amazing View of the Zugspitze
This smaller cable car will take you to the top of the Wank (pronouced “Vonk”) for a stunning panoramic view.
At the summit you’ll find two restaurants and a wooden playground. In the summer months, you can expect to see your friendly neighborhood Alpine cows grazing nearby.
This cable car is less than half the price of going up to the Zugspitze at only €26.50, making it a great budget friendly alternative.
There’s some great trails on this mountain including a panorama loop at the top which is suitable for all hikers.
At the base of Wank, you’ll find the Kletterwald, a high ropes course that is super fun for kids and adults!
Special Events
Summer concerts and sundowner events. Be sure to check the Garmisch official tourism website for events happening during your visit. In summer this cable car stays open for some cool events.
Open Seasonally
This cable car is only open in the summer season and for two weeks during Christmas holidays. Any other time and you would have to hike up and down.

Finish the day wandering the pedestrian area of Garmisch and grabbing some dinner.

Don't miss the center of Garmisch with a pedestrian zone lined with cafes and shops. In December you'll find a small Christmas market and ice rink here.
This is a nice spot for wandering and eating al fresco when the weather permits.
You can even take a walking tour with a professional guide to tell you more about the history of Garmisch-Partenkirchen and show you things you wouldn't see on your own!
