Did you know that you can see whales directly outside of Reykjavik? The bay has a lot of wildlife and high chances of seeing whales. The most common are Humpback and Minke whales. Dolphins are also very common and if you're lucky you'll spot Orcas as well.

The boat departs from downtown Reykjavik, so just hop on. If you go for the big boat, there's a cafe on board, I highly recommend the waffles. It's really cozy to be able to sit inside to stay warm and once the whales come, you go outside to see them.

In summer time you can also join the speedboat. It's smaller and can go closer to the small islands and let you see puffins (May-August).

The whale tour is a great family activity and kids of all ages are welcome to join!
