One of the most popular hikes for a reason. Rigi, also called queen of the mountains, offers one of the best views in Switzerland. Even for non experienced hikers its a perfect trip for a day. There are many hikes to do at Mt Rigi but this must be my favorite. How to get there: Take the cable car from Vitznau up to Rigi Kulm. From Rigi Kulm (which is the top of the mountain) you can hike down to Rigi Kaltbad. It takes around 1.5 hours and its 4km. If you prefer going up, you can also decide to get off the train at Kaltbad and hike up to Rigi Kulm instead. Best time to go: I recommend doing this in the afternoon, since its less busy and you might wanna consider watching the sunset from along the way. Its one of the very view trains which are operating until late. Prices: The ticket prices vary. I recommend getting the hiking ticket instead of the regular ticket. Hiking ticket costs 31chf with Halb fare/Swiss travel pass or 62chf without a travel pass. The regular train ticket costs 72chf. Tip: If the hike is too short for you, you can always extend the hike and walk down one more station and hop on the train on the next one.
