Five Finger Rapids as a pullout right of the North Klondike Highway on your way to Dawson. It's a great place to stop for a picnic and stretch your legs on the short hike to the Five Finger Rapids viewpoint.

Composed of four islands that divide the river into five narrow channels, only the eastern channel is passable. Indigenous Canadians called them "Tthi-cho Nadezhe," or "big rocks standing up." From 1900 to 1927, blasting widened the channel by six meters, making it passable for boats and canoes. The rapids serve as a reminder of an exciting and dangerous era of the Klondike Gold Rush during the late 19th century. Today, the rapids are popularly mentioned in literature such as Jack London's novel The Call of the Wild and Alastair Humphrey’s Thunder and Sunshine, adding to their quaint allure for adventurers.
