To get to Hovdsundet, you must either have a boat, or embark on a moderately demanding hike in slightly hilly terrain. The start is from a large car park that has recently been developed at Futskaret. It is located along the road to Mjelle. From here it takes about 1.5 hours to go out to the sandy beaches in Hovdsundet
