At the entrance of Hveragerði you will find The Greenhouse hotel, shops and food-hall. A fun and different experience.
Our 49 room hotel offers comfort and convenience, but first and foremost, an unforgettable experience. Comfortable beds in the hip rooms with locally made or recycled furniture, flat screen TV with a selection of channels, spacious bathroom and from the large window; the view of Hveragerði and Ölfus municipalities with its mountains, fields, hot springs and rivers. In winter one can enjoy the sight of the moon, stars and Northern Lights.
The reception is there to welcome your guests 24/7, or the check in-out process can be done online and the staff at the center desk are there to make sure your experience is unforgettable.
The downstair food hall has a selection of restaurants and a bar. Choose between dining in the room or enjoy the company of other guests and locals in the food hall.
Breakfast selection is for purchase at the bakery, coffee shop and juicebar. - A light breakfast can be added on to the rate at additional 1990 isk, and is a with coffee & juice, freshly baked bagle/sandwhich with topping or Greek yogurt with granola and berries, followed by something sweet
Selection of luxury retail, local design and souvenirs can be purchased in the Greenhouse store at the center desk, where guests can also get information about all the fun things to do in the area.
Welcome to the Greenhouse EAT-DRINK-SLEEP-PLAY
Hveragerði is known for it's greenhouses and therefore making a Greenhouse hotel makes sense as well. Of course it is not an actual greenhouse, but it definitely has that green vibe.
The combination of people that stayed there was interesting to me. Half of the people were a bit older and probably expected a real green house, the other half where a bit younger "hipster-ish". And I think it's a nice place for both those groups.
The food from the food hall was very nice and great quality. The room was also nice and had a lot of fun details.
The Greenhouse hotel has seven restaurants and a bar in its food hall, ice cream and a small food market. There's also an Icelandic designers store. So if you want some souvenirs, this is the perfect spot to get some.
