Cape Spear Lighthouse National Historic Site holds the title as the most easterly point in North America. It's not only a geographical landmark but also a place steeped in history, featuring the second lighthouse ever built in Newfoundland back in 1836, which today stands as the oldest surviving lighthouse in the province.

If you can, get there early to catch the sunrise—it's absolutely breathtaking to watch the day begin at the very edge of the continent. The site is also a prime spot for whale watching during the summer months and for spotting majestic icebergs as they drift past in the spring.

For those who love to hike, the section of the East Coast Trail that runs from Cape Spear to Maddox Cove is a beautiful 10 km stretch that showcases rugged coastal scenery and the raw beauty of the Atlantic.
