Amalfi Coast, Italy

  • Visit during off-season (spring) for fewer crowds and a more relaxed experience.

  • The Amalfi Coast is easily accessible from Rome or Naples (1–2 hours), making it convenient to include in your itinerary.

  • Getting around:

    • Rent a car for flexibility

    • Ride a Vespa for the experience

    • Use the SITA bus for budget-friendly travel between towns. Buy your ticket in advance via the Unico Campania mobile app OR on site, from a tobacco shop near the stop.

      • NOTE 1: Most buses, especially departing from main stops, don't accept passengers without tickets.

      • NOTE 2: sit on the LEFT side (when heading to Amalfi) & on the RIGHT side (when leaving Amalfi) → best coastal views (oh, and expect delays...)

  • The coastal road is narrow, winding, and scenic; plan extra time for drives and stops.

  • Hike the Sentiero degli Dei (Path of the Gods):

    • Best route: Agerola (Bomerano) → Nocelle (downhill)

    • Access via SITA bus from Amalfi

    • Expect stunning panoramic views throughout

  • If visiting in early spring:

    • Trails can be muddy and slippery

    • Wear proper hiking shoes

  • What to take home:

    • Limoncino

    • Pasta al limone

    • Sundried tomato

    • Artisanal hand-colored ceramics/plates or cups
