The Cabane du Mountet CAS mountain hut is the perfect place to stay for anyone who loves to explore nature in its purest form. Located in Zinal, Valais, this 115-bed facility offers hikers the best views of many glaciers in the area like Glacier du Mountet and Glacier Durand.

The hike to the hut is only open in summer.

HIKE DETAILS:

Start: Zinal Les Plats de la Lé bus stop. From Zinal you need to hike 11 km with 1250 meter or elevation gain to the hut. It can take between 4 - 6 hours. The last part before reaching the hut is very rocky and you have to hop on big boulders, therefore sure footedness is required. Have your camera ready once you start heading up on the mountain the views get dramatic with views like Zinalrothorn, Grand Cornier and many glaciers.

Recommended to book a night in the hut and enjoy the delicious dinner with views of the starry sky. Booking in advance is suggested as the trail is long and steep.

Tip: don't forget to explore around the hut and walk around 300 meters to see the glaciers closer.
