Njarðvíkurskriður, located in East-Iceland, is a spot with a spooky past. Legend has it that a monster named Naddi used to lurk in the screes, attacking and killing travelers after dark. A brave farmer eventually defeated Naddi, and a wooden cross was erected as a protective symbol for future travelers.
