I would recommend renting a jeep that you can take the top off of if you are going to be shooting - at least for a day. For the most part, I imagine you'll have the top on because you drive in and out of rain and theft is an issue on Oahu - especially at the hikes. If you have a big group, it can be fun to get a truck because once all the seat belts are used in the front, people are allowed to sit in the bed of the truck.

If you want to take cool pictures in the Jeep I recommend doing it along the road in between hanama bay and makapuu.
