Conzelman Road, winding through the Marin Headlands just north of the Golden Gate Bridge, offers some of the most iconic and breathtaking viewpoints of San Francisco Bay. This scenic drive features a series of turnouts and small parking areas—such as Battery Spencer, Hawk Hill, and Slacker Hill—that provide panoramic vistas of the Golden Gate Bridge, the San Francisco skyline, Alcatraz Island, and the Pacific Ocean. Battery Spencer, perched directly above the bridge’s north tower, is renowned for its close-up views and is a favorite spot for photographers. Further along, Hawk Hill offers elevated perspectives and is a popular vantage point for observing raptor migrations during the fall. While the drive along Conzelman Road is relatively short, the narrow, winding road and limited parking make early morning visits ideal for both photography and ease of access.
