In winter, spruce trees that cover Riisitunturi National Park's hillsides are clad with a thick coating of condensed frost and the landscape is just magical. Riisitunturi's trails are suitable both for day-trips and longer treks in summer and in winter. I wouldn't miss sunrises and sunsets here, there is also fever people then. And if you are as close as in Kuusamo or in Rovaniemi, you should definitely visit this place, it is worth the drive!
