The Slovenska vrata (Slovenian Doors) are a pair of monumental bronze doors located at the main entrance of St. Nicholas's Cathedral in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Commissioned to commemorate the 1250th anniversary of Christianity among Slovenians, they were created by sculptor Tone Demšar and cast by Roman Kamšek in 1996. The doors are a significant achievement in modern Slovenian ecclesiastical art and were blessed by Pope John Paul II during his visit to Slovenia in May 1996. The design by Franci Petrič features a single composition symbolizing the roots of Christianity in Slovenia, beginning with the baptism of Carantania's princes, Gorazd and Hotimir, and extending through the missionary work of Saints Cyril and Methodius.
