Pink Street is a pretty recent and renovated outdoor space in Lisbon, in the Cais do Sodré area. It is full of cool bars and restaurants and could be seen as one of the epicenters of the city's nightlife currently. Pink Street is located in an area where, historically, sailors and fishermen from the nearby port looked for fun and joy while in Lisbon, thus the bohemian atmosphere.

Don't get confused: "Pink Street" is the English translation for Rua Cor de Rosa, because the road is actually painted pink (as of 2013). However, the street's official name is Rua Nova do Carvalho - make sure you provide your GPS with the right information. Please note that there is another street in the city called Rua da Rosa ("Rose street"), in Bairro Alto.

The rainbow-like umbrellas were installed by the Rio Grande restaurant to catch the attention of passers-by, tourists and potential clients.

The New York Times ranked Lisbon's Pink Street among the top 12 favorite streets in Europe.
