Pont Neuf, translating to "New Bridge" in French, is the oldest standing bridge across the River Seine in Paris, France. Despite its name, it's ironically the newest of the old bridges in Paris, as it was completed in 1607 during the reign of King Henry IV. The bridge is characterized by its unique design. It comprises two spans meeting on the Île de la Cité, with a central island hosting a small square. The bridge is embellished with 384 mascarons (ornamental masks) and numerous stone-carved decorations. The bridge features numerous statues, notably those of King Henry IV on horseback, symbolizing the bridge's royal association and the king's reign. Over the centuries, Pont Neuf has become a gathering spot for both locals and tourists. It's a place to enjoy street performers, artists, and the lively atmosphere of the Seine.  The bridge, with its charming lights and views, is often associated with romance.
