Togakushi Shrine Okusha is the main shrine of the Togakushi complex. The shrine enshrines the deity Ame-no-Tachikarao-no-Mikoto, responsible in Japan's myths for opening a rock door to a cave entrance with his divine power and bringing out the goddess Amaterasu-Omikami. The approach to the shrine is made up of a two kilometer long path of majestic cedar trees over 400 years old along both sides, followed by a red gate named Zuishinmon. Worshippers of the shrine come for blessings including good fortune, wish fulfillment, good harvests, and success in sports. Upon entering the shrine grounds, visitors can take an enjoyable stroll along the cedar tree path and look forward to climbing up more than 270 steps leadning to the solemn shrine hall.
