Hatago Iwa, also known as Noto Futami, are a pair of sacred rocks off the coast of the Noto Peninsula in Ishikawa Prefecture. Legend has it that these rocks represent a married couple, with one male and one female rock tied together by a shimenawa rope. The rocks are a beautiful sight, especially at sunset, and are said to have been created when the "god" of textiles threw his fabrics into the sea, where they transformed into the rocks we see today. Accessible by car or bus, Hatago Iwa is a must-visit spot for those exploring the rugged Noto Kongo coast.
