Palazzo Borromeo is the main palace of Isola Bella and home of the Borromeo family for centuries. It's possible to visit this stunning palace and its beautiful gardens as part of the Isole Borromee tour.

Inside Palazzo Borromeo you can discover centuries of history. It's baroque art museum holds many paintings, sculptures and tapestries. There are over 20 rooms to explore like the Ball Room, the Medals Room and many more.

A must-visit is the Berthier Galley, which hold about 130 paintings from the 17th and 18 centuries with works by Raffaello, Correggio and Tiziano.

The grottos is one of the most fascinating parts of the palace, and one of my favourites. All the 6 grottos are decorated with cobbles, shells, marbles, and tuff shards.

To visit the palace you can purchase a ticket online or on the spot, but I'd recommend purchasing your ticket online, so if you visit during high-season you won't have to waste time.

Make sure to buy the combined ticket 'Isola Bella + Isola Madre', if you plan to visit all the Isole Borromeo. It can be easily done on the same day.
