Wadi Al Arbeieen is often considered one of the most beautiful wadis in northern Oman, located roughly 1.5–2 hours from Muscat along the coastal road.

It offers exactly what most people imagine when they think of an Omani wadi: dramatic canyon walls, palm trees, and clear turquoise pools that are perfect for swimming. Compared to more accessible spots like Wadi Shab, it feels quieter and more remote.

Unfortunately, I didn’t get the chance to explore it myself. A car breakdown got in the way and took up most of my time that day. But from what I've heard, it's a worthwhile stop along this route if your schedule allows!

How to Get There
From Highway 17 (Muscat–Sur road), exit at:
23°06'27.8"N 58°58'56.3"E

From the highway, take a right (other options are blocked), then left at the T-junction toward “Wadi Al Arbeieen”.

Note: the road layout is newer than what Google Maps shows. Follow the physical signposts instead!

Parking Coordinates

Road Conditions
This is an off-road track (about 15km long), and the road can be bumpy and steep in some places. A 4x4 is recommended.

Finding the Trail
The hiking path towards the pools can be tricky to find. Initially, you have to stay on the left side of the water. After about 100 meters past the first bend, climb left into the palm grove to continue the hike. From there, it should be more straightforward.

You can make this stop as relaxed or as adventurous as you like. There’s a beautiful emerald pool less than a five-minute walk from the parking area, perfect for a quick swim. If you continue hiking deeper into the wadi, you’ll find more secluded pools and a more adventurous canyon experience.
