There are two enjoyable walking options here: the Dune Lake Walk, which takes about 30 minutes, and the Kahikatea Swamp Forest Walk, a shorter 20-minute trail through native swamp forest. Both walks are easy and family-friendly.

A lookout tower is also available, with two flights of stairs, offering a great vantage point over the surrounding area. The site is well-equipped with toilets, making it a convenient and scenic stop on your West Coast drive.
