If you're looking for a hike in The Whites that will take less than half the day then Mount Willard in Crawford Notch State Park is an easy choice. Because this hike is on the quicker side (relatively speaking), it can get very busy. A pro tip would be to arrive early and beat the crowds! The preferred trails is Mount Willard Trail, its approximately 3.1 miles long and has an elevation gain of 895 feet. Parking for Mount Willard can be found along the side of Route 302 - the trailhead begins right behind the railroad near Crawford Notch AMC Welcome Center.
Mount Willard Trail is a gradual incline all the way to the summit (spring & winter months - microspikes will be necessary). Once at the summit, hikers are rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscape, including the Saco River Valley and the distant peaks. It’s a perfect spot for taking photos or just soaking in the beauty of the outdoors.
