Mamure Castle, located in the Bozdoğan village of Mersin Province, Turkey, is a medieval fortress with a rich history. Originally built to fend off pirates, it underwent repairs during various periods, including the Byzantine era and the Crusades. The castle was expanded by Alaattin Keykubat I of the Seljuk Turks in 1221 and later controlled by the Karamanid dynasty. Renamed Mamure after renovations, the castle boasts impressive architecture with 39 towers and bastions connected by ramparts. Visitors can explore its three main courtyards, each holding historical remnants like a mosque, Turkish bath, and lighthouse.
