If you're looking for something a little different from the classic mountain viewpoints (or they're covered by clouds/rain), the Grindelwald Glacier Canyon is worth adding to your itinerary. This dramatic gorge was carved by glacial water over thousands of years, creating towering rock walls, rushing turquoise water, and a series of walkways that take you deep into the canyon.
Kids especially love the elevated spider web net suspended above the gorge (if they're brave enough!), while adults will appreciate the unique perspective of Switzerland's powerful glacial landscape.
Plan about 1–2 hours to explore the canyon. It's an easy outing for families and makes a great option on a cloudy day when the mountain peaks are hidden.
Good to know: The canyon is about a 5-minute drive/bus ride or 30-minute walk from Grindelwald village. Paid parking is available on-site. Parking at Gletscherschlucht 1, 3818 Grindelwald • bus stop Grindelwald, Gletscherschlucht
Tickets: Available on site - you can read more info on their website here https://www.outdoor.ch/en/outdoor-experience/glacier-canyon-grindelwald
