🚗 Parking & Getting Around Cluj-Napoca

If you’re visiting Cluj by car, keep in mind that the city center can get quite busy, especially on weekends and during major events.

Parking: The parking at Piața Unirii is one of the most convenient options if you want to explore the Old Town, but it’s also among the more expensive parking areas. If you’re staying longer or don’t mind walking a few minutes, consider using one of the city’s public parking lots instead.

Another good option is the City Hall (Primăria) parking, which is often more affordable, especially during weekends. Depending on the day and time, you may also find free or lower-cost public parking spaces in other parts of the city.

Parking payment: I recommend downloading the TPARK app before your trip. It’s the easiest way to pay for most public parking spaces directly from your phone, without needing cash or parking meters.

Public transport: Cluj has a reliable network of buses and trolleybuses operated by CTP Cluj-Napoca. Tickets are inexpensive, vehicles are frequent on the main routes, and they’re a great alternative if you want to avoid traffic and parking altogether.

Ride-sharing: If you don’t want to drive, both Bolt and Uber operate throughout Cluj-Napoca. They’re widely used by locals and are usually the quickest way to get around, especially in the evenings or if you’re travelling between neighborhoods.
