Barcade is the only place to be when you are longing for a crisp American craft beer and a fun filled night playing old school video games. It’s the “original arcade bar” and has locations in Manhattan and Williamsburg – but my favourite has to be the one based on St Marks Place for its atmosphere and location.

The mash-up was founded by four friends Paul Kermizian, Pete Langway, and brothers Kevin and Scott Beard, who spent their nights playing classic 1980’s video games and drinking craft beer from Paul’s Williamsburg apartment. Those unrivalled nights led the group to launch a neighbourhood bar revolving around awesome craft beer and timeless video games, this spawned the idea of “Barcade” which unbeknown to them at the time, would blow up into a series of bars across the whole of the United States.

An all-round first-rate place for a stand-out craft brews, top-notch fast food and most importantly classic arcade and pinball games. They have a huge selection of games from the 80’s and 90’s including: Ms. Pac- Man, Donkey Kong, Ghosts ‘n’ Goblins, Super Mario Bros. 3 and Point Blank just to name a few. Make the most of as many as you can and see if you can get on that legendary leader board.

You probably won’t believe it with the hundreds of arcade bars, which are now located all over the world, but this really was the OG and is sacred ground for the arcade games of yesteryear.
