The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, commonly referred to as the New Cathedral of Cuenca, stands tall over the city of Cuenca in Ecuador. This stunning church was designed by Friar Juan Bautista Stiehle and built between 1885 and 1975, combining a unique blend of Romanesque Revival, Neo-Gothic, Baroque Revival and Byzantine Revival styles. It's surmounted by three magnificent glazed-tile domes representing Czechoslovakia, while the facade is made from alabaster and local marble, with pink marble from Italy interspaced throughout. Inside, the church boasts stained glass windows created by Spanish artist Guillermo Larrazábal. With its stunning views and fascinating history, the Catedral de la Inmaculada Concepción is sure to captivate visitors for years to come.
