Parque María Reiche is a quiet but meaningful stop along the Malecón. It honors María Reiche, the German mathematician and archaeologist who dedicated her life to studying and protecting the Nazca Lines. The park features statues, gardens, and plaques explaining her work, all set against the Pacific Ocean backdrop.

Parque María Reiche became part of our running route in Lima, and we loved passing through. It’s not a “must-see” attraction in the flashy sense, but it’s one of those thoughtful places that helps connect Peru’s ancient wonders with the modern city.

Pro Tip: Stop here in the late afternoon, when the light on the ocean makes it a peaceful spot to pause, especially if you’ve been walking the full Malecón.
