Location:
The Foreshore Walking Track is located in Bicheno, on Tasmania’s east coast. The trail starts near the main township area, close to Bicheno’s wharf and beaches, with easy access and parking nearby.
Hike length:
Approximately 2–3 km return, taking around 30–45 minutes depending on pace and how long you spend at viewpoints along the track.
Difficulty Level:
Easy — the track is mostly flat, well-formed, and suitable for walkers of all ages. Some sections are paved, while others follow sandy or gravel paths.
Dogs allowed:
Yes, dogs are allowed but must be kept on a leash.

The Foreshore Walking Track follows Bicheno’s coastline, offering views of the Pacific Ocean, rocky headlands and sandy beaches. The trail passes through coastal vegetation, including low shrubs and native grasses, and provides a chance to spot shorebirds and local wildlife, including wallabies, seabirds and whales during migration season.
This walk is perfect for a leisurely stroll, photography or enjoying a peaceful coastal sunset. It can be combined with a visit to the Bicheno Blowhole or nearby beaches for a full-day coastal experience.
