If you're going to Phuket, I'd skip Patong Beach and head straight to Phuket Old Town. Patong Beach is a little on the wild, hectic and chaotic party side, and in my personal opinion, has lost a lot of the Thai Charm.
Phuket Old Town on the other hand, is an absolute gem and totally worth exploring if you love colourful streets, cool cafes, and a bit of history. It’s a totally different vibe from the beaches—think vibrant Sino-Portuguese buildings, street art, and cute shophouses turned into hipster cafés and boutique stores.
Things Not to Miss:
Thalang Road – The most famous street, full of pastel-coloured buildings, cute cafés, and Sunday Walking Street Market.
Street art hunt – There’s amazing murals hidden all over! Great for IG pics 📸
Local food – Try Roti pancakes, Hokkien noodles, or Moo Hong (Phuket-style pork stew).
Chinpracha House – A beautiful old mansion that gives you a peek into Phuket’s past.
Wat Mongkol Nimit – A stunning gold-roofed temple right in town.
It’s best to visit in the morning or late afternoon to avoid the heat, and if you’re here on a Sunday, the Walking Street Market is a must—amazing street food, handmade crafts, and live music. Such a fun way to spend an evening! 🎶✨
