Kabushima Shrine, located in Hachinohe, Aomori, is a Shinto shrine in Japan that was first built in 1269 by fishermen to pray for safety and good harvest at sea. The shrine is known for its connection with black-tailed gulls, which nest on the island between March and August. Visitors believe that getting hit by gull droppings brings good luck, and they can receive a commemorative tablet from the shrine. The shrine was rebuilt in 2020 after being burnt down in 2015.
