A view of forever and a fascinating look into the past. The drama of Ireland’s rugged West Coast shoreline and the soft beauty of Co. Clare’s postcard-pretty countryside. A trip to Loop Head Lighthouse is a visit of contrasts, centered around this beacon of hope that has perched majestically on the scenic headland of Loop Head peninsula for hundreds of years, looking down on the fury of the Atlantic Ocean 90 meters below. Here a world of beautiful seabirds, seals and dolphins meets breathtaking views as far as Dingle and Connemara. While the cost, characterful Light Keeper’s House offers a romantic stay with a difference.

It is quite a drive to Loop head lighthouse and its super remote, but so worth it! If you are coming from south you might consider taking the ferry from Tarbert Ferry to Killimer Ferry Terminal. For context driving around the bay will take you around 3:30 minutes from Killarney national park if you are drivin from the South.

I recommend this as a sunset location and I recommend you to check out the rock structure when you walk all the way down to the coast on the right side, its absolut stunning and full of seabirds.
