If you’re looking for an intimate (and secret) spot for cocktails in South Lake Tahoe, check out Community Speakeasy. It’s hidden in the back of Social House Craft Sandwiches (connected to Cali Burger), so you have to know about it. To get in, you walk through a door that looks like a walk-in refrigerator, which is actually the entrance to the bar. You’ll need to ask someone who works at Social House to let you in. There used to be a password, but I don’t think they require it anymore—they would give you the password and tell you when to come back. The space is small, dark, and cozy, with 1920s-inspired decor, specialty craft cocktails, and live music. You’re allowed in for 90 minutes since it’s such a tiny space and they want to give others a chance to experience it. Definitely a great spot if you’re looking for a unique, moody night out.
