Bonsai Rock is one of Lake Tahoe’s most popular spots for photos, especially around sunset. It’s on the east shore, so the views as the sun dips behind the mountains are incredible. The trail down to the rock is short but a bit steep, and once you’re there, you’ve got front-row access to the lake.

It’s also one of the best spots to paddle. Whether you’re on a kayak or paddleboard, the calm water and stunning scenery make it hard to beat. Feeling adventurous? You can jump off the rock—or snap a photo of someone else doing it!
