The Truckee River Bike Trail is a super scenic path that runs along the Truckee River, parallel to Highway 89. It’s great for all skill levels, with mountain views starting near Palisades Tahoe and plenty of shaded sections. The trail is flat and goes on for miles, so you can cruise at a relaxed pace or turn it into a workout. There are plenty of spots to stop and enjoy the river, take photos, or have a picnic. You can also grab a bite at River Ranch, which is right along the trail and offers beautiful river views. The trail is well-maintained, so the ride is smooth the whole way.
