One of my go-to snowshoe hikes in Lake Tahoe is Chickadee Ridge. The trail starts at Tahoe Meadows off Highway 431 in the Mt. Rose Wilderness, just north of Incline Village. It’s about 2.4 miles out and back, so it doesn’t take long to reach the ridge, which offers stunning views of the lake.

The trail winds through pine trees that look magical when covered in snow, and you’ll often spot the friendly chickadees along the way, which makes the hike feel extra special.

Tip: You are allowed to feed the Chickadees, and they love sunflower seeds!
