The Brienz Rothorn Railway (BRB) is an incredible steam-powered tourist railway in Switzerland. It climbs from the eastern end of Lake Brienz to the summit of the Brienzer Rothorn, reaching a height of 2,244 metres above sea level and becoming one of the highest railways in Switzerland. With its single track line featuring five tunnels and special Abt double lamella rack system, this 7.6 kilometre stretch of tracks is full of wonder and excitment. The journey is complete with old-fashioned train carriages, operated by steam locomotives and diesel locomotives for added trips and off-peak seasons.
