Perched on the dramatic northern tip of Moreton Island, the Cape Moreton Lighthouse is a must-see. As Queensland's very first lighthouse, this historic sandstone tower offers some of the most spectacular coastal views you'll find. It's an easy 100-metre walk up a paved track from the car park to the lighthouse grounds and the fascinating information centre. From this vantage point, you can often spot dolphins, turtles, and manta rays in the turquoise water below, and from June to November, it becomes one of the best land-based whale-watching spots around.
