East Palisades Unit - Indian Trail
Hike to a Bamboo Forest
Category

Park

For one of the best hikes inside the city, head to the East Palisades trail. You'll follow a rugged 3.4-mile path along the Chattahoochee River, climbing to scenic overlooks before descending into a surprisingly dense bamboo forest that feels a world away from the city. Be ready for some steep, rocky sections and know that access is via a narrow, one-lane road, so it's best to arrive early to find parking, which requires a $5 daily pass.
