Located at the southern end of the Cross-Island Trek, Wigmore’s Waterfall (also known as Papua Waterfall) is the most accessible cascade on Rarotonga. Tucked into a dense, emerald valley, the fresh mountain water flows down a steep rock face into a deep, natural swimming pool surrounded by towering ferns and wild ginger.

It is a fantastic, refreshing spot to wash off the salt water after a day at the beach or to celebrate completing the cross-island hike. The area is easily reached via a short gravel road off the main south coast highway, though a small coin donation is requested at the entrance to help the local landowners maintain the track.
